Comfortable Living, no extra costs

AAC is highly insulating and fire resistant which reduces energy costs by up to 30% compared with conventional masonry. Your building will naturally be warmer in winter and cooler in summer due to Aertec AAC's superior R-Values. AAC is also eligible for EDGE funding from financial institutions.

The programme catch-up you don't have to explain

AAC lays 3× faster than conventional brick or block. Larger format, lighter weight, 3 mm thin-bed joints — the walls are done before they become the critical path, and every trade that follows can start on time.

Less weight above means less cost below

AAC weighs a fraction of clay brick or concrete block. Lower dead loads let your structural engineer size down frames, foundations, and reinforcing — and every kilogram you remove from the structure reduces what you spend to support it.

Lower energy bills from the day the building opens

7.5× more thermally insulated than clay brick, 12.5× more than concrete brick. Cooler in summer, warmer in winter, and up to 30% off HVAC running cost over the life of the building.

Sound separation that's tried and tested

AAC's cellular structure is highly sound-absorbent — airborne noise between rooms and from outside drops audibly. The reason it shows up on residential, student, and hospitality specs.

Natural superior fire compliance (4hrs) without additional materials

Non-combustible with a fire rating well above conventional brick, block and drywall. Aertec AAC does not contribute to fire spread in line with SANS 51996-1-2 fire design requirements, without supplementary materials for fire protection.

Green certification your project can claim

11 kg CO₂/m² in manufacture, vs 129 kg for clay brick. Made from abundant natural raw materials, whereby 1m3 of dry materials yields 3m3 of finished AAC. AAC is internationally recognised by green-rated accreditation bodies.

4 on Nursery — 6-storey student accommodation

This 6-storey residential development in Cape Town's Southern Suburbs specified AAC for all internal walls and the inner skin of the external hybrid cavity wall system — chosen for its weight reduction and verified cost performance.

AAC reduced the total dead load on the structure, allowing the engineer to size down foundations, columns, and slabs. Against a conventional masonry build, the project recorded the figures shown — named savings, on a named project, signed off by the structural team.
