Aertec was approached to offer an alternative solution for the architectural aesthetic designed screen dividers. The original specification was a lightweight decorative finish product that consisted of EPS which exceeded the project budget considerably. The structural design was already completed and therefore loading onto the balconies needed to be a minimum.

Due to the required shapes of the screen dividers not any material could be used. AAC is a very workable material (behaves like wood) and can be shaped into any form using simple hand tools. The specification was therefore changed to Aertec AAC due to cost savings presented (well within budget), workability, lightweight and high fire resistance (4hrs) compared with the previous specification.
