Penthouse Heylon Court

This newly bought penthouse underwent extensive renovations and extensions. The client who is well averse with construction and property development sought out to maximize his livable space within the allowable parameters of the existing structure. Due to load restrictions, the client required an affordable lightweight masonry material which can withstand the cape weather conditions such as driving rain and high wind loads but yet provide comfortable living conditions within the space, such as thermal and acoustic properties. Aertec AAC was specified for all the external walls, as well as a lightweight filler material in the raised floors. Aertec’s CEM-SKIM 100 premix skim plaster was specified as the render on to the AAC walls.
