The client required a robust material which had good sound insulation properties as well as a 2 hour fire resistance, which had to be lightweight in order to stay within the allowable loading parameters of the structure. The project scope was to sub-divide the apartment into two separate units. In order to achieve clean lines with the existing beams and columns, the solution was to build 280mm cavity walls using two skins of 100mm thick AAC blocks. Aertec’s CEM-SKIM 100 skim plaster was applied directly to the walls at 8mm thick allowing for a smooth finish.
